Responsibilities: 

The Associate Clinical Application Specialist assists in the development, implementation, education and utilization of clinical systems and technology required for patient care/operational initiatives for all service lines. Supports clinical processes with technology, primarily the electronic documentation system, the identification of best clinical practice using technology and the dissemination of education pertaining to the use and functionality of technology systems for clinicians. Supports IT Leadership, Management, Clinical Applications and Training with end user training, development of EHR templates, macros and workflows.

Duties and Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide basic troubleshooting, problem solving and technical support to internal and external stakeholders via phone, web-based ticketing system, and/or in person for efficient and documented problem resolution for end users.
  • Assist in data collection and initial analysis. Provide input on basic data trends. Support data entry and verification tasks
  • Participate in the discovery process under supervision. Document basic findings related to application and workflow. Provide support in gathering user feedback.
  • Attend planning sessions and provide input as requested. Take notes and document action items. Support the implementation of strategic plans.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with end users. Assist in identifying and documenting workflow or data entry issues. Support senior staff in resolving identified issues.
  • Assist in the development of basic educational materials. Provide logistical support for training sessions. Participate in the delivery of educational programs as needed.
  • Provide basic on-call support under supervision. Respond to straightforward issues and escalate complex problems. Ensure availability during assigned on-call periods.
  • Assist in preparing materials for training sessions. Provide support in optimizing system use based on analysis. Document findings and share with the team.
  • Assist in gathering and analyzing basic data. Provide support in optimizing system use based on analysis. Document findings and share with the team.
  • Perform basic administrative tasks within the clinical information system. Ensure accuracy in patient account management and data entry. Support dictionary maintenance and user management under supervision.
  • Provide basic support during system upgrades and new releases. Assist in testing and debugging under supervision. Document issues and communicate findings to the team.
  • Assist in handling helpdesk tickets and provide basic troubleshooting. Liaise with TSG to resolve straightforward issues. Document and escalate complex problems and issues as needed.
  • Assist in resolving basic software functionality issues. Work with TSG support staff under supervision. Document issues and solutions as part of the team’s knowledge base.
  • Assist in documenting basic clinical and business workflows. Ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation under supervision. Support senior staff in developing workflow documentation.
  • Provide basic support in maintaining and updating training materials. Ensure accuracy and consistency of content under supervision. Assist in the preparation of training materials for sessions.
  • Contribute to achieving department goals by performing assigned tasks. Ensure all work aligns with departmental objectives. Seek guidance to ensure alignment with enterprise goals.
  • Perform assigned tasks as directed by management. Seek guidance and clarification as needed. Ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of one-year medical group, ambulatory, or hospital clinical experience (required)
  • Bachelor's degree from college or certification from a technical school; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Healthcare Clinical. Practice Management or Financial Operations (Preferred)
  • Experience with athenahealth (Preferred)
  • Initiative, organization, problem-solving and self-direction
  • Ability to apply advanced problem-resolution skills to complex issues, quickly diagnose problems, and develop, test, and implement appropriate and effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Experience with/knowledge of primary and specialty care settings and roles.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective relationships with coworkers and diverse patient populations, while embodying compassion and caring in all interactions.
  • Excel in collaborative environments, working seamlessly both independently and as part of a cohesive team across all organizational levels.
  • Contribute proactively to team development and dynamics, actively engaging all members towards shared goals and fostering a productive group dynamic.
  • Ability to successfully complete multiple assigned tasks/assignments, proactively communicate with management to prioritize workflow and mitigate risks, track issues, and provide solution-oriented escalation, and understand project management methodologies.
  • Understanding and ability to map clinical processes, gather and analyze data, effectively present ideas and views to clinical audiences.
  • Familiarity with clinical systems interfaces and medical device integration.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, listening, and assessment skills.
  • Travel to various office locations. Must have a valid driver's license with record acceptable to company standards.
  • Strong time management and project management skills.
  • Ability to work with computers, effectively use electronic medical records (EMR) and Microsoft 365
  • Ability to learn and retain information regarding EMR, processes and procedures.

Salary is commensurate with experience
